Effective September 19, 2026
1. Overview
Socket Sam is business-management software for mobile mechanics, roadside repair businesses, and repair shops. This Privacy Policy explains how Socket Sam collects, uses, protects, and discloses information when people visit our website, use the Socket Sam service, interact with a business using Socket Sam, or participate in Socket Sam SMS/MMS messaging.
For purposes of this policy, “Socket Sam,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Socket Sam software service and website at socketsam.com.

Depending on how Socket Sam is used, information may include:

- Billing and transaction information, including payment status and transaction metadata. Payment-card information may be handled directly by third-party payment processors rather than stored by Socket Sam.
- Technical information such as browser or device type, IP address, authentication/session information, security logs, and service diagnostics.
- Messaging information, including mobile telephone numbers, message content, delivery information, opt-in and opt-out status, consent records, and the date, time, and source of consent.
3. How information is used
We use information to provide, secure, maintain, and improve Socket Sam; authenticate users; operate customer and vehicle records; support scheduling, service orders, estimates, invoices, payments, reminders, communications, and customer portals; deliver requested SMS/MMS and email communications; prevent fraud or abuse; troubleshoot problems; maintain audit records; and comply with legal obligations.
4. SMS and mobile messaging privacy
When needed to provide the messaging service, information may be processed by telecommunications carriers, messaging infrastructure providers, hosting providers, or other service providers acting on our behalf. Those providers may use the information only to provide contracted services, maintain security, comply with law, or operate the communications requested by the sender and recipient. They are not authorized by Socket Sam to use mobile opt-in information for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Recipients may opt out of Socket Sam SMS/MMS messages at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for assistance. Additional messaging terms are available at socketsam.com/sms/ and socketsam.com/terms/.
5. When information may be disclosed
Information may be disclosed to service providers that help operate Socket Sam, such as cloud hosting, storage, communications, security, analytics, and payment providers; to a participating business when the information relates to that business and its customer relationship; when a user directs or authorizes the disclosure; or when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or enforce agreements.
Socket Sam does not sell personal information for money. The SMS-specific restriction in Section 4 applies regardless of any other provision in this policy.
6. Data security
Socket Sam uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security, and users are responsible for protecting their own login credentials and devices.
7. Data retention
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain business and service records, meet legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security and audit history. Retention periods may differ depending on the type of information and the relationship between Socket Sam, a participating business, and its customers.
8. Choices and rights
Account users may update information through available Socket Sam account settings. Customers of participating businesses should generally contact that business concerning corrections to business-controlled customer or service records. SMS recipients can opt out by replying STOP. Browser and device settings may provide additional privacy controls.
9. Children
Socket Sam is a business service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13 through the public Socket Sam website.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Socket Sam, applicable law, or our service providers change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current published version.
11. Contact and messaging help
For SMS assistance, reply HELP to the Socket Sam message you received. To stop SMS/MMS messages, reply STOP. For other support information, visit our Contact & Support page.
